The Owners: Jennifer and Michael Popper have owned Studio Fitness since November 2006. Jennifer, who did not plan on becoming the owner of a small business, is the one who takes care of day-to-day tasks involved in running the studio.
Previously an expert in the harrowing NJ-to-NYC commute, Jennifer had carved out a great career in magazine publishing. She often joked with her husband that all she really wanted to do was quit her job and open a Pilates studio but it was truly just talk; she had accepted her fate as a workday warrior and resigned herself to the coffee and commuting ritual like so many others.
A lifelong fan of fitness, Jennifer released stress by playing volleyball and by taking a variety of fitness classes. She decided to give Pilates a try. It was love at first stretch, and she was hooked on Pilates after her very first session. She attended regularly and eventually became aquainted with Pat Dietz, the owner of Studio Fitness. In July 2006, Pat surprisingly asked Jennifer if she was interested in purchasing the studio. Jennifer realized it was her shot at a new life and decided to take a chance. It seemed like the business had picked her.
Now, as the owner of a Studio Fitness, she is working to provide personalized and affordable physical training in Yoga and Pilates in a relaxed atmosphere. Aware of the fact that so many of her clients are fellow “warriors,” Jennifer has created a class assortment at Studio Fitness that will help reduce stress and provide an invigorating training experience for persons at all different fitness levels.

her, and a love for yoga she just couldn't have imagined.
Sandy practices every kind of yoga, from gentle to power, and really enjoys taking new classes everywhere she travels. Her aim is to help her students to find their own connection to yoga, and to the beauty of mindfulness through the breath.

Mary is also a White Light Reiki practioner and Emotional Freedom Technique guide. These can be combined with the Massage techniques described for optimal results.
Grey Valenti - Grey started practicing yoga in 1993, when she was an ocean physicist studying variations in the Indian Monsoon. She didn’t take her practice seriously at the time, but as the years passed she kept finding herself back on the yogic path. In 2001, she fell in love with Mysore-Style Ashtanga Yoga. The daily repletion of postures, the silence, and the rigor of the practice forced her out of her head and helped her begin an inward journey.
Grey received her Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training from David Swenson, which focused primarily on the asana (postures) practice. Eager to learn more about the spiritua
l side of yoga, she completed her 200-hour teacher certification course and is currently working towards her 500-hour certification with Ranjitha Sandeep and Devi V at the Yoga Sutra for Life yoga school. Her work with Ranjitha & Devi helped her find her inner guide.
Grey’s goal as teacher is to help her students honor the perfection that is already within them. “Let every pose be an expression of your soul.”
Janine Johann - Janine is trained in Mat, Reformer and Injuries and Special Populations through STOTT Pilates. After years of practicing Pilates DVD’s at home, she attended her first Pilates class at Studio Fitness where she immediately felt at home and loo
ked forward to her weekly sessions. As her passion for Pilates grew beyond a hobby, she enrolled in the STOTT Pilates instructor certification program so that she could share her knowledge with others. Janine loves educating, motivating and energizing her students everyday and is thrilled to join the Studio Fitness team! In addition to teaching Pilates, Janine has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Resources Management and is currently a Human Resources Manager in the healthcare industry.
